Arabic I: is an elementary language course
Arabic I: is an elementary language course, which introduces students to essential vocabulary, basic grammar structures, and the articulation of Arabic sounds. Students will learn how to write using Arabic script and to identify and describe everyday objects and scenes, express likes and dislikes, report events in the present tense, remark on isolated events in the past, ask basic
questions, and give simple instructions. They develop basic listening and reading comprehension skills and gain initial skills in writing short Arabic texts on personal topics. Students will also be introduced to the everyday cultures of the Arabic speaking countries.

Advanced Arabic
This course provides additional practice at the advanced level to help students produce and comprehend increasingly sophisticated materials and achieve greater linguistic accuracy. This course adopts an integrative approach of both Fus’ha and colloquial Arabic and a skill-based approach in which learners gain mastery of the language through the use of authentic materials taken from various sources (books, periodicals, videos). Teaching vocabulary and grammar is integrated into the skill based activities, and it is incorporated in the class activities as an aid to overcoming any communicative problems.

Intermediate-mid Egyptian Arabic
This course is designed to move learners from a stage where they have achieved the basic grammatical skills to being able to use language in a wider cultural context. Teaching vocabulary and grammar is integrated into the skill-based activities, and it is incorporated in the class activities as an aid to overcoming any communicative problems. Teaching techniques are student centered, with the instructor as the facilitator, and the goal of teaching to make students independent users of Arabic.
